I’ve been debating posting the video of the “surprise!” portion of the evening (conveniently shot on MJ’s new digicam), but I think that’s going a bit far on the “too personal” scale, so I shall refrain. Besides, I was so surprised by the whole thing I come off a bit of a dork on film. It’s mostly me looking around in awkward amazement and saying things like “wow!” and “hi!” and lots of mad giggling coming from the assembled crowd. God, it was nice.
Oh, and someone came up with a good comment about me sitting in gum at the Pantheon (see previous post): “Gum bum’s no fun.” I wish I’d thought of that.
It was a lovely weekend all ‘round really. All lazy hours on the couch catching up on the TV I missed while I was away (praise to the DVR), Jack Johnson music (and I don’t usually like him much), sun shining on the leftover decorations (crepe streamers, balloons, glitter banners - your basic kindergarten fun fest), leftover party food in the middle of the day (the cheese, the sushi, the super sweet old lady wine I like), and feeling good, despite the dent made in my bank account by the trip bills (which I paid Friday morning).
Look at that sentence! That’s a long sentence! Can you believe how much I’ve been blogging lately? I wonder if this indicates a trend or if I’m just riding a temporary wave.
Insert sigh of contentment here.
