Well, this time of year always gets me in the mood for such things, what with my love of Halloween and all. (Classic, kid-friendly, supernatural, ghosty Halloween. Not racist, sexist disgusting Halloween. There is a world of difference.)
So. I decided to hunt around for some painterly illustrations by Adams that I hadn't seen before, and I certainly came up with plenty of good stuff, which I'll share with you here. She is especially wonderful with witches, of course, but all of her art is charming. She has been deceased for more than a decade, and a lot of these books are out of print, but watch for them at thrift stores and online. They are too beautiful to pass up.
Anyway. Halloween. Come Friday/Saturday, I will don a wonderful costume (as long as it turns out), and will scare people with it, and will post pictures if and when I can. You will love it. I think.
Anyway, here's some spooky, wonderful beauty for you. Happy (Almost) All Hallows Eve, y'all.
