The Sunbeam Mixmaster: it's cool too

People are always talking about the KitchenAid Stand Mixer. Like it's the best thing ever.

Sometimes it bugs me. The KitchenAid mixer is iconic, yes, but also very expensive.

I have a 1950s era Sunbeam Mixmaster (olive green, just like the own shown below). And it works great. Just as great as a KitchenAid in my not-so-humble opinion. And it's pretty too.

Give the Mixmaster some love, people. Root for the underdog. It feels good. Trust me.

Hey Jen, My mom had a Sunbeam Mixmaster that had been her mother's and it lasted at least 50 years before finally expiring. My Mom replaced it with a new Sunbeam, and now I have bought one as well. We are definitely a family of Sunbeam believers. ~Pam

Thanks ladies! I think she's a beaut and I am glad you concur! I will definitely buy another Sunbeam when this one finally bites the bullet. (Though, really... I want it to live forever.)

My mom has a Sunbeam Mixmaster too! I must have baked over a hundred dozen cookies with that mixer all through high school and university! :)

Jen Selk Chic is one of those annoying, hard to classify blogs that's about a bit of everything to do with style. Mostly it's about interior design, vintage junk, collecting and my Goodwill addiction. It's about the things I love (the chic things, not the weird things). I hope you love them too.
