None of that worked out. That happens sometimes.
So, months later, after I let it languish in my basement for awhile, I decided to turn it into an inspiration/message board. After all, it already had the cork. It already had two chalk boards inside. Why not?
I painted the exterior white and I mounted it on the wall in my guest room. (Being a former dartboard, it already had holes and screws placed for mounting. Easy peasy.)
Next, I decked it out with some inspirational images and wee objects. And...
Amazing, I know. A $5 dart board and a free cabinet.
The only other thing I did to the dart board was replace the handle hardware with two little round knobs from Anthropologie. They sort of match the vintage knobs on the garbage cabinet. When not in use, the whole thing closes up and blends in.
