Inspired by my mom's great Spode find last week, I started thinking about ways to decorate with blue dishes on a budget. There are a lot of different routes you can take. Michael Penny at House and Home recently wrote about finding blue dishes in Chinatown. Look at the beautiful hallway vignette he created (photo from H&H, by Kim Jeffery):
For my part, I like the idea of mixing and matching vintage finds. Blue and white dishes often pop up at Value Village, Goodwill and Salvation Army stores (and since many stores organize by colour, they can be fairly easy to find). The first little bowl on this page is one I found at my local Goodwill. Even new, this was a cheap dish, but the cute country pattern is appealing, and a little collection would be charming. Image it filled with wild strawberries or something. Pretty, no?
Jen Selk Chic is one of those annoying, hard to classify blogs that's about a bit of everything to do with style. Mostly it's about interior design, vintage junk, collecting and my Goodwill addiction. It's about the things I love (the chic things, not the weird things). I hope you love them too.
